No School Tomorrow: Friday, June 19!

A Note from Ms. MacEwan

Dear Cunniff Families,

We are almost there! The end-of-year vibes, celebrations, and smiles are going strong. We had a fun End-of-Year assembly to close out the day yesterday, and we are excited for our final days of the school year.

Our last day of the 25-26 school year is Wednesday, June 24th. All students will be dismissed at 12pm, and there is no Extended Day program.

Please read through for more information as we close out this school year!

My best,

Julia

Lost & Found: Item Pick-Up!

We will have the contents of our Lost & Found outside at Arrival and Dismissal next week (Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday) -- please make sure you take a look through for any missing items!

Items left behind after June 24th will be donated.

June 24th: 5th Grade Clap-Out

Our last day of school is Wednesday, June 24th. All students will dismiss at 12pm, and we end our day with a clap-out of our 5th grade students: 5th graders depart their classrooms and walk through the school while students in the younger grades, and staff, clap them out of the building as an exciting farewell.

As you may know, our wonderful secretary, Anne Marie Dangler, is retiring this year after 11 wonderful years of service and being a warm, smiling face in our front office. Ms. Dangler will be joining the 5th graders on their clap-out walk. The clap-out ends as students exit through Door 1 (different than their regular dismissal spot!), and I invite you to join us there as we send these wonderful students and Ms. Dangler off into their exciting next steps. (Feel free to gather a few minutes before 12p!)

☀️📚☀️Summer Reading Challenge!☀️📚☀️

Ready, Set, Read!

Summer is almost officially here, but that doesn’t mean the learning has to stop! We are thrilled to launch our Cunniff Summer Reading Challenge.

Each student is coming home with 2 reading trackers to color in as they log their reading minutes over the break. Color a sun every time you read for 20 minutes!

Students should bring their completed logs to school in the fall. We’ll be adding up the minutes they read to see which grade level read the most over the summer. The winning grade will earn a prize and a celebration!

If you find yourself in need of additional trackers over the summer, you can print out extra tracking sheets in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Pashto, or Nepali at any time by clicking this link or by sending an email to hannah.turner@watertown.k12.ma.us. Please email if you would like translated materials in another language.
