A Note from Ms. MacEwan

Dear Cunniff Families,

We had a wonderful Field Day today! Thank you to our PE teachers Jonna Kennedy and Mike Tempesta for organizing so much fun for our students, and to our fantastic volunteers!

We are excited to welcome families next week for our 2nd & 3rd Grade concert on Tuesday, and our 4th and 5th Grade concert on Thursday! Our students have been working hard on their performances, and these concerts are always such a lovely way to start closing out the year.

2nd & 3rd Grade Spring Concert
Tuesday, June 2, 2026 @ 9am - 9:30am
This concert is for caregivers with students in second and third grade. Students should plan to wear their WPS music shirt if they have one OR Cunniff Cougar pride colors.

4th & 5th Grade Spring Concert
Thursday, June 4, 2026 @ 9am - 10am
This concert is for caregivers with students in fourth and fifth grade. Students should plan to wear their WPS music shirt if they have one OR Cunniff Cougar pride colors.

We have enough seats for each student to have 2 caregivers attend their concert. Caregivers will be allowed to enter starting at approximately 8:50am.

If you are not able to attend, we will be recording the concert and will share a link to the video as soon as we are able.

Have a wonderful weekend!

My best,

Julia

Community Survey

As we come to the end of another school year, we are reflecting on the successes and challenges of the past year to help inform decisions for next year. Watertown Public Schools is dedicated to building a stronger community at the Cunniff, and your voice is essential!

Please take a moment to complete our brief, anonymous engagement survey to help us improve our outreach efforts. The survey should take less than 5 minutes to complete and will close at the end of May.

If you’d like a follow-up, you’ll have the option to leave your email at the start!

Clothing

In the spirit of sustainability and community support (and keeping our hallways clear), we have organized all unclaimed Lost & Found items into size-specific grab-bags.

Families can request a bag in their child's size - no questions asked. This is a great way to grab extra layers for next winter or replace those missing essentials from this year - completely free! Whether you're looking to save a trip to the store or could use a little extra help stocking your child's closet for next winter, these bags are here for you. Check in with our Family Engagement Facilitator, Amanda to pick up a bag.

Join Us!

We invite you to attend the 2nd Annual Watertown Diversity and Belonging Celebration at Filippello Park! This event takes place on the first Thursday in June each year. This year, it’s June 4, 2026, 5:30-7:30pm. All Watertown families are invited to come, bring a picnic dinner, enjoy an evening of live music, games, ice cream, a bouncy house and more. Our musical performances this year feature our talented WHS Jazz band, WMS Choir and a faculty band!

This event was established in 2025 as a way for families to come together and celebrate another year of wonderful work by our students and the caregivers who support them. The WPS Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Office Organized this event in collaboration with the WPS Diversity and Belonging Councils, Watertown Community Foundation, Watertown Parks and Recreation Dept, WPS Fine Arts/Performing Arts Dept.
