Dear Cunniff Families,

I'm sharing a brief newsletter this week to provide some information on communication around student absences, and some calendar reminders for upcoming events.

The Watertown Public Schools' Attendance Policy is outlined in our School Handbook.

If your child has had five or more absences from school (excused or unexcused), you will have already received communication (via ParentSquare) about this. This communication is not punitive in anyway, and is simply meant to ensure that everyone is on the same page about student attendance. As absences accrue, we may request a meeting with you to develop a shared plan for preventing absences going forward. The more information we have from families regarding absences, the better - we understand that kids get sick, and we want to make sure that everyone is on the same page.
