Our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders rocked out with two days of Math MCAS testing this week.

Next up, our 5th graders will take the Science, Technology, and Engineering (STE) MCAS on Tuesday, May 13 and Thursday, May 15. Then we are done!

This concert is for caregivers with students in kindergarten, first grade, second grade, and third grade. We have enough seats for each student to have 2 caregivers attend the concert. Caregivers will be allowed to enter the building starting at 8:50am, and will enter and exit through Door 2. Students will wear their WPS music shirt if they have one OR Cunniff Cougar pride colors.

Our first "Sing Out! Watertown" was a fabulous night with over 200 singers in attendance! Thank you so much to all of our Cunniff caregivers and singers who were able to attend this amazing event, It was incredible to see so many singers from across the city making music together! We had SUCH a blast at our Fun Run today! Thank you so much to the Cunniff PTO and Coach T for making this event so awesome, and thank you to all the family members who came out to cheer us on!

The Fun Run is our largest fundraiser of the school year with proceeds used to fund all field trips in full in addition to covering Field Day costs, social events, extra classroom snacks, teacher reimbursement, and more! The fundraising window is open until next Friday, May 9!

Our fundraising prizes:

$3,000- A visit from Courage & Raider at the Fun Run

$6,000- Pajama day

$9,000- Ice pops at lunch

$12,000- Double recess

$15,000- Movie/show on the big screen at lunch

$18,000- A mystery staff member will get a pie to the face!

Gigi's Pizza is helping us out and donating 20% of your total when you mention the Cunniff Elementary on Wednesday, May 14 (this is an early dismissal, and Gigi's is running this for both lunch and dinner!).

The Cunniff will be accepting donations of non-perishible food items as part of the Watertown Community Foundation food drive! Our donation bin will be located just inside the front doors.

On Friday, June 6, we will be holding our Kindergarten screenings for our rising Kindergarteners. In order for our Kindergarten teachers to run these screenings, there is no Kindergarten on this day. Also, because Pre-K students will be participating in screenings, there is no Pre-K on this day.

The Watertown Community Foundations annual Watertown Helps Out (WHO) is a

month-long community service event in May that connects local non-profits to

community volunteers for a variety of projects. Community projects are spread across

the month of May, currently totaling a need for 300+ volunteers.

- Many of the opportunities are family-friendly.

- WPS High schoolers can get community service hours.

The Department of Children and Families is seeking to keep Watertown children in their

schools and communities. In order to accomplish this, DCF is looking for Watertown parents

who would consider opening their homes and hearts to a student in need of short-term

care.
