A Note from Ms. MacEwan

Dear Cunniff Families,

Happy Memorial Day Weekend! This morning, we held a small assembly to mark Memorial Day and learn about why we recognize this day. Two of our amazing 5th grade students shared the history of Memorial Day, and a letter to a fallen soldier. Our students then participated in a school-wide sing-along with Ms. Schorr. We wish all of our service members, past and present, respect and well wishes, and we thank them for their service.

While some might consider this the unofficial start of the summer, we still have three exciting weeks (and two days) of this wonderful school year to go! We are filling these weeks to the brim with lots of fun activities, so please read on for important information.

Have a wonderful long weekend,

Julia

Fun Run Incentives Update!

As you know, our students did an amazing job raising money during this year's Fun Run Fundraiser! With over $16,000, we have earned some fun things:

Here is the schedule:

  • School-wide Pajama Day - Friday, May 30
  • Double Recess - Week of June 2.
  • Ice pops at lunch - Thursday, June 12
  • Movie/show on the big screen during lunch (we will pair this with ice pops) - Thursday, June 12
  • A visit from Raider - Friday, June 13 (during Field Day)

Field Day: Friday, June 13! Volunteers Needed!

Our whole school will participate in our annual Field Day on Friday, June 13! We will share a schedule of events closer to that time, but are looking for volunteers in the meantime!

Every year, the Cunniff PTO helps the school recruit volunteers for its annual Field Day event, and we would love your help!

We are looking for full day, part day, and dunk tank volunteers. More info can be found in the link below. Reminder: the district requires an active CORI to be on file in order to volunteer, and they are good for 2 years.
