Extended Day Program

The Extended Day Program provides a safe, nurturing environment after school for children in Kindergarten through Grade 5 from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM daily and Pre-Kindergarten students from 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM daily.  Activities are provided that challenge each child to explore, discover, create, and grow. The Program offers additional enrichments during conference days and early release days.

2024-2025 School Year Extended Day Program

NEW STUDENT Registration for incoming kindergarten through grade 5 students:

  • NEW STUDENT registration for the 2024-2025 Before School and Extended Day Program opens on Monday, June 3, 2024 at 8:00 AM and closes on Sunday, June 23, 2024 at 11:59 PM.  Registration is online via Google Form.
  • Registration is not first come, first served. A lottery for enrollment for NEW STUDENTS will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2024.  Families will be notified via email on or before July 8, 2024 if their student(s) received a confirmed space in the program or if they have been waitlisted.
  • There is a one-time, non-refundable registration fee of $100.00 per student.  Registration fees are due after the lottery for enrollment takes place.  You will receive instructions on how to submit your registration fee when you receive your student’s enrollment lottery results. 
  • If, following the lottery for enrollment, your student is offered a space in the 2024-2025 Before School and/or Extended Day Program their first full month’s tuition payment is due by Monday, July 22, 2024, to confirm and secure their enrollment.  Registration fees are also due by this date.  Payment instructions will be emailed to families.

Registration for RETURNING STUDENTS and/or SIBLINGS OF RETURNING STUDENTS:

  • Watertown Community Education is pleased to offer a priority registration period for the 2024-2025 Before School and Extended Day Programs for RETURNING STUDENTS and NEW SIBLINGS OF RETURNING STUDENTS.  The priority registration period will open at 8:30 am on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, and will close at 11:59 pm on Thursday, May 30, 2024.  Registration is not first come, first served. 
  • If the number of RETURNING STUDENT and/or SIBLINGS OF RETURNING STUDENT registrations received exceeds our total program capacity and/or the capacity of a single grade/age grouping or schedule, a lottery for enrollment will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024.
  • RETURNING STUDENT registration links will be emailed to currently enrolled families directly.
  • Please note that “RETURNING STUDENT” is defined as a student enrolled in the 2023-2024 Before School and/or Extended Day Program who is an active student in the program(s) at the time of our priority registration period 5/15/24 – 5/30/24.

How to Make a Payment for the Before School and/or Extended Day Programs

What form of payment is accepted?

  • Online Payment via eCheck (electronic check) or via credit and debit card - *NEW* Payment Option as of October 25, 2022
  • Payment via check or money order

Where and how to make online payments:

  • Online payments can be made via the City Hall Systems payment platform. Payment can be made via eCheck (electronic check) or via credit and debit card. Please note there is a convenience fee charged for online payments. The fee for eChecks is $0.50 per transaction and the fee for credit and debit cards is 2.95% (minimum fee is $1.00) per transaction.

Registration and Enrollment Information for the 2023-2024 Extended Day Programs


Is there space to enroll my student in The Extended Day Program for the 2023-2024 school year?

  • As of August 1, 2023, The Extended Day Program at the Cunniff, Hosmer, and Lowell Elementary Schools is enrolled to capacity based on our current staffing for all grades PreK - Grade 5.  There is a waitlist for these programs.  

How can I add my student to the waitlist for The Extended Day Program for the 2023-2024 school year?

  • If you would like to add your student to the waitlist you must register them AND pay the registration fee.  
  • To register your student, please click on the school-specific registration link below.  Once you submit your online registration form you will receive an email from the email address “Google Forms” with a copy of your registration form.  Please check this for accuracy.  If you notice errors in your registration form, please submit a new corrected registration form.  We will honor your most recent registration form and discard any older, prior registration forms received.  Sometimes the email from “Google Forms” can go to your junk or spam folders, please make sure to check these. 
  • To activate your student's registration there is a one-time, non-refundable, per-student registration fee of $100.00.  Your student's registration is not considered complete until the registration fee is received.  You can submit your registration fee payment via check or money order made payable to "City of Watertown" with your student's full name and the code "EXT DAY REG FEE" written in the memo line.  You can drop your registration payment off in the payment drop-off box located in the Phillips Administration Building parking lot.  You can find this parking lot by entering 31 Marshall Street into your GPS.  The payment drop-off box is black and located next to the stairs leading into the building from the parking lot. Click here for a photo of the payment box outside of the Phillips Administration building.  
  • Once your online registration form and registration fee have been received, you will receive an email within 5 school days of receiving both your form and fee, confirming your student has been added as an active student on the program waitlist. If and when a space becomes available, we will reach out to you via email to the email address(es) you provided on your registration form to offer you a space.  Please make sure the email address(es) you provide are ones that you check regularly as space offers are time-sensitive.  
  • Please note that there is no guarantee that a space will become available for your student in the program.  If you are not offered a space in our program this year, this fee would show as paid for future years if you wish to register your student for our program.
